LET US CLOSE IT OUT RIGHT! 🏁

YOU ARE NOT TIRED, YOU’RE UNINSPIRED!😴

MISSING PIECE OF THE PUZZLE 🧩

It is a new month and we are going to take a step back and refocus so we can accomplish great things this month. How many of you have heard of the Law of Attraction? I am assuming if you absorb any sort of social media, or enjoy any self-improvement material, the answer would be a resounding “Yes”. Asked what the Law of Attraction (LOA) is, many people give a version of this answer – it is thinking positive to attract positive things. This is only one piece of the puzzle. Just like any puzzle, if you do not have all of the pieces, you will never get the whole picture.

There are actually three pieces to the puzzle of the Law of Attraction. Two very important pieces of the puzzle many of us miss. These two pieces are feeling (or vibration) and action. Many people watch movies, or read books, about the law of attraction and think it is just about thinking things into existence. That is not how the law works. It is a piece of the puzzle, but just one. You must accompany these thoughts with the corresponding emotion. Think of how you will feel when what you are picturing becomes reality. How will you feel when you get that new high-paying job? How about wrapping your arms around that special someone? How do you feel when a burning desire is finally realized? You feel so full of joy that you feel you are almost buzzing. Like electricity is flowing through your veins. That is called ‘vibration’. These have become such buzz words, they have lost some of their power. Is your vibration really that important? Let us look at what one of the smartest people in science had to say about it.

Understanding the secrets of the universe? That is pretty powerful stuff. Mr. Tesla was one smart individual. Did you happen to notice the other word he used in this quote? Energy. Have you ever met someone and just thought, “I love their energy!” That is actually what first attracted me to Margie. Your vibration is your energy. Having a positive energy can help you not only land an amazing partner, but jobs, friends and a million other things. How about the reverse? Have you ever run across someone with a negative vibration? Bob Marley used to call them emotional vampires. Why? They literally suck the emotional life out of you. Have you ever had a day where your vibration or energy was negative or low? We all have. What is that like? It usually causes us to be lethargic. We tend not to feel like socializing with friends. We trade healthy eating and the gym for junk food on the couch binge-watching our favorite reality show. Persisted in long enough, this will leave us with physical challenges as well.

I love this diagram because it shows how the 3 pieces of the puzzle feed off each other. This leads us to the final piece – action. As we showed in the negative example above, having a low vibration can lead us to taking negative actions. This will undoubtedly lead to a negative outcome. We can use this to our advantage. If we turn it around and focus on what we want to accomplish and accompany that with the feeling or vibration/energy we will have when it is accomplished, we will take far more constructive action. If you think of how much you desire to be a better golfer, you imagine yourself as a championship golfer, maybe even that you are on television with the world watching. Are you going to take your time lining up your shot or just swing away and hope for the best.

This is one of those quotes that used to drive me crazy. How the hell can I be something before doing it? Now, considering all of the pieces of the puzzle we discussed, it makes sense. If you picture yourself being something, feel how it will feel when you are it, you are going to take actions that person would take. In the end, that will end up with you becoming it. For those of you playing along at home, that does indeed mean we have to be something in or to…well…be something. Sounds very counterintuitive, but it actually makes perfect sense.

If you are looking to put the law of attraction to work for you, remember to include all of the puzzle pieces. Thinking about something is only one third of the puzzle. Seeing one third of any puzzle will never give you a clear picture. Just like using one third of the Law of Attraction will never give you any results. Remember to use your thoughts, your emotions and action to attract what you want into your life!

WEDNESDAY REMINDER 😀

Midweek! How are we doing on not only taking care of ourselves, but those around us? Just a quick reminder that it takes very little of your energy to be compassionate and encouraging to yourself and others. That little amount of energy can have a great impact on the quality of someone else’s day, but yours as well. As a bonus, the energy we expend is returned to us with the joy we bring to others.

What small thing do you plan on doing for those in your life? One little thing to encourage or inspire someone? Please share with the rest of us!😀

WOULD YOU PUT YOUR MONEY IN HERE?

If you saw your friend putting all of his money in this machine, what would you do? You watch him take dollars out of his pocket and feed the machine, press a button and then get frustrated when nothing happens. Would you stop him? Would you point out how putting hard-earned money into a machine that is “out of order” is not only a waste, but a rather stupid course of action?

If you are a good friend I hope you would. Would you put your money in that machine? I’m guessing you are thinking to yourself, “no way! I work way too hard for my money to do something so stupid!” You would be right to think so.

What about your time, emotional and mental health? How many people, places and things do we keep investing our time, money and physical, mental and emotional health in even though they are “out of order”? It may not be so obvious because they don’t have a sign on them, but we know they are there. You keep lending money to that friend who can never hold down a job. You keep listening to your friend that just spreads negativity and gossip. You continue to go to that job that is sucking the joy out of your soul.

Think of your life and how many out of order machines you are feeding. The scary part is that it is not money you are losing. Although, that can be part of it as in the case of our friend who can’t hold down the job. No, you are losing something far more precious. You are losing time. You are putting part of your life in an “out of order life vending macine”! Stop doing that. Think of your life and what things might be wasting your time and energy.

MID-WEEK MAKEOVER 🥕🍅🫑🥒

Here we are, mid-week. Your energy might be starting to slip. I know that happens to me. It is time to ask ourselves some tough questions. Are we relying too much on stimulants to keep us going? Are we using a 5 hour energy for our salad dressing? Are we even having salad? Maybe we are choosing convenience over quality for our food choices? Who has time to make a meal at home when you can just swing by and pick up a burger? Are the foods we are eating robbing us of energy and more importantly, our health?

Our diet is one of the things that can affect every area of our life. The wrong foods can make us feel sluggish and bloated. They can cause inflammation in the body and give us aches and pains. The wrong food can lower our immune system and make us more vulnerable to a whole host of different illnesses. I understand that choosing healthy options can be more expensive, both on the wallet and on the clock. Ask yourself what they alternative is. Are we trading our time and money for health and true energy?

It is not all doom and gloom. Food can be some of the most helpful tools to live an amazing life. You do not have to be on a strict diet, or even the latest fad diet. If you find your energy starting to slip mind week, or you are starting to feel run down, it might be what you are feeding yourself. An important question to ask yourself when choosing what to eat is, “Am I eating this for fuel or for entertainment?” In other words, are you eating something because you love the texture, the taste or even the fun packaging and the little cartoon characters that do the commercials? Perhaps thinking what would fuel your body and provide the nutrition it needs to run the best it can would be better? Being healthy make take some thought, and some prep, but it pays off in the long run.

Like all of the areas in life you are trying to improve, it is better to start by adding something healthy than sacrificing something bad. From a psychological standpoint, you feel less like you are depriving yourself, or having to ‘give something up’. From a scientific standpoint, your stomach is only so big. This means, the more you fill it with healthier meals, the less room you will have for the entertaining foods. Soon, you will find yourself making the entertaining foods the exception and not the rule.

Look up some healthy recipes today. Start with one meal. Replace the junk you are putting in your body, with something that will nourish it and help it serve you the best. Make sure you are getting enough fiber and water. Try to pick some foods that are gently detoxifying. That way you will help your body help itself. When you are pouring stimulants in a body that is full of a terrible diet, it is like putting premium gas in a car that has no oil. Eventually, you are going to break down. Remember to ask yourself if you are eating for pleasure or for health and fuel. It is ok to eat some things for pleasure. Just make sure they are the exception and not the rule. Feel free to share any healthy dishes you enjoy. Especially ones that give you a little boost of energy.

IT AFFECTS EVERYTHING!😳

One of the most ironic things that I hear as a life coach is that people do not have the time for self-care and self-improvement. The misconception here is that it is somehow a separate area of your life. They will say things such as “I know I need to take better care of my mental and physical health, but I really need to focus on my money situation.” or “I would love to spend more time improving the way I deal with stress, but the kids keep me so busy.”

Do you know what the common denominator in your money, your parenting, your career as well as every other area of your life is? I give you a really big clue, you can find it in the mirror. You are the common ingredient in every area of your life that you are trying to improve. Worried about your health? Here is an interesting fact, do you know that you are 11% more likely to have a heart attack on Monday morning than any other day? How can that be? We hear about smoking, alcohol consumption and diet being risk factors. None of them would make Monday worse than any other day. What the data tells us is that life and job dissatisfaction is one of the main risk factors for heart attacks. When you are going to a job that is killing your soul every week, it might be killing more than that. If you are having an issue dealing with work stress, not taking the time to get help and learn to use stress in a healthy way can end up costing you a lot more than just medical bills.

How about money? Everybody needs to focus on their finances. What would we need to be more financially healthy? Energy? The ability to deal with stress and change? Focus? The ability to perform better at work? How are all of these obtained? We could focus on each area one at a time, which a lot of us do, but there is a quicker way. That is to focus on you. If you improve yourself, you will be a better parent, a better employee, a better business owner, a better friend and a better lover. When we improve ourselves, our lives improve. If you bring a better ‘you’ to any area of your life, that area will improve.

In closing, we need to stop treating self-care and self-improvement as a separate area of our life. Instead, we need to understand by focusing on improving ourselves, every area of our life will improve. If we focus on our physical health, for example, we will be sick less often. This would allow us to use less sick days at work. It would give us more quality time with our children and our spouse. That would make us better parents and lovers. If we improve our mental health and ability to deal with stress and change, that will help us be a more patient and attentive lover, parent and coworker. If we work on improving our listening skills…well, you get the idea. Focus on yourself. It is one of the best things you can do for everyone else.

WHY SOME PEOPLE MAY NOT LIKE YOU😜

On occasion, we can run into people who just don’t like us. This can be both frustrating and annoying. What we need to remember is that it usually has little to nothing to do with us. There is a saying “hurt people, hurt people”

I have found cynical and pessimistic people can often be irritated by my optimistic nature and desire to improve the world anyway I can. It is important for me to remember that these wonderful souls are who need positivity the most. Next time someone seems unjustly irritated by you, send them some good vibes and do not let it poison your soul.

DON’T FORGET TO UNPLUG THIS ON THE WEEKEND!

It is true that unplugging things saves electricity and energy. When we do save energy, we have more to use at a later time. Whether that is in our homes or our bodies. Make sure to unplug a little this weekend.

You may be busy like myself and not have a lot of free time on the weekend. The key then is to make the most of the time you have. Truly unplug. This could be meditation. It could be sitting in nature and reading a book. Taking a hot bath. Whatever works for you, make sure to do it this weekend.

YOU NEED THIS LIST!🔥

I am an advocate of making lists. In my first two books, I discuss creating a happy Playlist of songs that put you in a good mood. How helpful to be able to just push play and positively affect your emotional state. You can expand this list to include other media that put you in a good mood such as movies, books, restaurants and even people. Having this list done ahead of time allows you to save valuable time and effort when you want to turn things around.

The same can be said of today’s list. What fires 🔥 you up? What gets you motivated? When energy is lacking to you reach for another cup of coffee or energy drink? Do you turn up some fun music? Go for a walk in nature? What do you do to get your juices flowing? I suggest creating a list now so when your energy dips, there is no thinking you just grab your list and start implementing items to move your energy needle.

Lists are great because you can always add to and change them. They are always ready so there is no thinking involved. Have you ever tried to think of where you want to go eat right before dinner? Suddenly, all of those great places you wanted to try have left your head. If you would have had a list, you would have been set! What would be on your list of things that fire you up and get you motivated?
