PROMOTE YOUR CITY 😃

Recently, I was asked to be an ambassador for a project in our city. It is called “Tiny Tins”. Inside a small tin are over 30 offers from local businesses. This not only helps promote the business, but saves the consumer money and helps them explore the city.

I encourage you all to find ways in which you can showcase your city. You can start by sharing something that you love about the town you reside in below. As a bonus, you can see one of the promotional videos I did in my YouTube channel at the link below. While you’re there, feel free to check out my over 100 other motivational and inspirational videos as well.

CHOOSE YOUR HARD 👷‍♀️

Many people complain about the time or effort it takes to improve themselves. As Earl Nightingale said, “the time will pass anyway. ” we should look to find ourselves better at the end of each day. As for effort, it requires sacrifice both to improve and not. As you can see by the examples above. Quite often, the result for not improving is much harder in the long run!

Today, if the thought of improving yourself seems too difficult, remember that there will be sacrifice either way. Cleaning your house is difficult. Having a dirty house and dealing with roaches and rats is far more difficult. Exercising can feel difficult. Having sickness, disease and a broken down body is far more difficult.

Let us take the advice of Earl Nightingale. The time will pass anyway. The question is, where will you be at the end of it?

WHAT I LEARNED FROM DIDDY

By now everyone has heard about the trials and tribulations of Diddy. Famous rap musician, producer  clothing designer and such. What has came out has disgusted many, and rightfully so. Some of the accusations are mind-blowing. Just like anything in life,we can put the poor life decisions made by this individual to work for us in our own life.

One of the things that is starting to come out is the people who both associated, and knew about the illegal activities diddy was involved in. I’m not about to say that I know who was guilty or not. What it does remind us of, is the importance of being selective with who we associate with. Sure, this person may be popular and hold sway in an industry, but does that mean we should look the other way when we see them acting in a way that harms others and goes against the law?

This starts as early as the playground when we are little. One kid is very popular so we try to be friends with them. Does it matter that they are a jerk and treat others poorly? The answer to that question can have life-long implications. Who we choose to have around us can not only cause us to be guilty by association, it can impact our behavior. At least i am not as bad as they are.May excuse behavior in ourselves that we would otherwise find repulsive.

Another lesson is the minors this man was allowed to negatively influence. There is no way any parent should allow their children, famous or not, to find themselves in these situations. You simply cannot make intelligent life decisions at that age. The issue of domestic violence. We should not allow money and influence to cloud our vision when it comes to abusive relationships. Everyone has the right to be safe no matter the wealth and status of the abuser.

These, and I’m sure many other crimes, will come out in the future. As awful as they are, let us use them for good. Let them remind us of the importance of maintaining strong mental health for everyone. Let us look for abuse before it happens. Make sure everyone has a voice. Let’s not look the other way at someone’s behavior just because we like their music.

CHANGE WHAT YOU SEE 👀

Life sure has its challenges. That is something we are all aware of. One very powerful way we can take away a lot of the sting of those challenges, is to change the way we view them. This sounds all too simple, but that does not make it any less true. Our choice in how to view life is one of our greatest powers. Sadly, it is often one that is little used.

This quote by Wayne Dyer is very powerful if we put it to use. Think of people who try your patience. It could be a rude coworker. Perhaps one of those souls who are ignorant on how to use a turn signal. Whoever they are, they can drive us crazy 🤪 if we let them. What if we viewed them as trainers for our emotional state. It is easy to be happy and grateful when things are going great. Much like lifting weights in the gym, our ability to maintain our emotional state only comes through resistance.

I would love to hear about situations you have changed, or could change, just by changing the way you look at them.

GET YOURSELF ONE OF THESE!

Last post we discussed the importance of having ways to cheer yourself up. I would still love to hear any ideas you have for that. One of our readers (lbeth1950) mentioned she loves to call her best friend.

This reminded me how important it is to both have and be someone who brings joy into life. Do you have one of those friends you just feel better after spending time with? Are you one of those friends for someone else? It is vital we keep a group of people around us who brighten our spirits.

It is also important to have friends in all avenues. What I mean is to have friends you can call, friends you can message online, but most importantly, one’s you can physically connect with. Sometimes these friends will change avenues. My friend Curtis I enjoyed having coffee with and solving the world’s problems. He, and his wonderful family, moved to Las Vegas. Now it is more of an online friendship.

The point being, if you have a great friend, keep them even if you have to make some adjustments. One of the best ways to assure you have a group of amazing friends is to be one! Make sure whenever you have an opportunity to bring joy to the life of another you take it!

YOU CAN DO IT! 💪

What things do you do to encourage yourself when you feel down? What things have you seen others do to encourage themselves? It is important to have a list of ways to encourage yourself because we don’t always have a cheerleader close by when we need one. Share the ways in which you encourage yourself in the comments below so we can all get some new ideas!

WHAT ARE YOUR MOMENTS? 😊

I love to fill my day with moments that make me smile. Better yet, I like to be fully aware and appreciate those moments. Too often we fail to understand the value of simple moments of joy until they are gone. This is just one of many reasons to be present during your day.

When we are not slaves to distraction, we can feel the joy in our hearts that these simple moments bring. Another way is to reflect on moments in your day that bring you joy. As I’m writing this, I am doing just that. Let me tell you, it is making me smile just thinking about, and being grateful for them.

Some of these moments for me are waking up to see comments from readers of this site like you. It is that first sip of coffee in the morning. One of my favorites is coming home from work and first setting eyes on my beautiful fiance. What are your simple moments of joy and how can you better appreciate them?

HOW YOU START MATTERS 💪

Monday is not everyone’s favorite day. I truly get that. I usually get less than 3 hours of sleep, followed by a 10 hour workday. It can be tough to get up mentally after enjoying a great weekend with family and friends.

When starting any project, including the work week, our attitude at the beginning goes a long way to deciding if we will succeed or fail. That is why it is so important that you find any means at your disposal to create a positive attitude on Monday morning. Sounds impossible? Here are a few things to try. You can begin by focusing on what you have to be grateful for. Life isn’t always what we would like, but it could always be worse. You can focus on the purpose of why you are going to work. Whether that is being able to spoil those you love, or keeping a roof over your head and the lights on. Imagine what it would be like without those things.

Starting the week with a good attitude will increase our chances for it being a successful week. Above we listed 2 ways in which you can make that happen. I would love to hear any ideas you have for making Monday, or any other day, a positive one.

WHAT WE DO TODAY

Today is the only day we have. Yesterday is gone, tomorrow may never come. It is today that holds all of the power. Do you regret something in your past? Today is the day you can make up for it. Worried about something in the future? It is the actions that you take Today that can help you be prepared.

It is living in the past or the future that causes most of our stress in life. Do yourself a favor and live in the present. Not only will you have less stress, but you will use the day to your advantage!

THE BEST INVESTMENT YOU CAN MAKE 🤑

Today everyone is looking where to invest. Is it real estate? How about the stock market? Crypto currency? I have an investment that is not only more valuable, but will pay far greater dividends. If you would like to know what this investment is, and how you can take advantage of it, read the rest of this post.

First, let us look at the value of this investment. Diamonds, for example, are rare and expensive to mine. Therefore, they hold great value for the consumer. The value of stocks is relative. They can be worth $70 in March and be worth a little as $15 by September. This investment is not only more valuable than Diamonds, it is literally priceless. Speaking of price, the value of this investment never decreases. To the contrary. As time goes on,this investment becomes more valuable.

The investment I am speaking of is time. Before you roll your eyes, or stop reading right here, let me explain. There are many things you can get back. Lose a lot of money? Many people have lost money only to regain their fortune. Even if you lose a diamond, another can be purchased. What if you lost time? You wasted it with mindless scrolling online, or you were forced to sit in an airport because your flight was delayed. Can you get that time back? No. It is gone forever. I don’t care how wealthy or wellconnected you are, you can’t get more time.

The way to take advantage of this investment? Make good use of your time. Have plans. I heard a quote that says, “For every minute of anger, you lose 60 seconds of happiness.” Meaning that time spent in anger is gone. You will never have that 60 seconds back.

This sense of urgency in regards to time was brought home to me when I knew I was having open-heart surgery. There was a 2 month time frame. I realized I could be staring down my last 60 days on earth and thought about all I wanted to accomplish. Here is the thing, you don’t have to be facing a dangerous surgery. Any of us, or our loved ones could check out at any time. The thing about time, it is always running out. The time to invest in our time is now, before it is too late!
