How often do we find ourselves complaining about our lives and forgetting to be thankful we have one? It is the middle of the week. Let us take a deep breath, refocus, and be grateful for the life we have. Even if our life has challenges, the fact that we are still here allows us to face them and conquer them. Let us be grateful for the life we have today.
Hate is the worst of all viruses. It will not only negatively affect you socially by ruining relationships and hurting others, but it is far worse than that. It will harm you spiritually. It will harm you emotionally by leading to loneliness and depression. These done for any extended time will negatively affect you physically in a whole host of maladies.
If there is one virus that you must eradicate from your system, it would be hatred and jealousy. The best antidote? Fill your heart with love and compassion. It will do positively for you that hatred did negatively. You will be stronger spiritually, emotionally and physically.
“I got this!” Let that be our mantra today. Just three words to remind us that things are not as serious as they may seem. That despite how dire the circumstances may seem, we can overcome them with determination mixed with a little faith.
Whatever the challenge may be, look it straight in the eye and say, “I got this!” Notice the exclamation point at the end of the mantra. This is not one you are going to want to say meekly. Whether it is in your head, under your breath, or at the top of your lungs, say it with some passion and belief!
How many times have you doubted yourself on the ability to make it through a situation? How many times have you actually made it through? Here’s a hint, you’re reading this so you are still here. That means you have made it through 100% of the situations you have faced in life up to this point.
Today, and throughout the week, when facing a tough situation declare these three words, “I got this!” Notice I said declare. Not mention, whisper or say questioningly. Nope. Declare and know that you have made it through100% of the things life has thrown at you. Whatever you are facing is just one more thing, that despite how tough it may look, will not bring you down!
I recently used this picture on a post about the beautiful lady in my life. Bob Marley certainly had this aspect of relationships worked out correctly. Although reflected in the feminine in this example, it holds true across gender.
I have what I consider to be the most beautiful woman in the world. She is beautiful in so many different ways, how can I say her smile is the most beautiful curve on her body? When someone is genuinely smiling, it means theirheart is happy. They have joy on the inside. When you are with them, either something you did or said, or maybe even just your company, is bringing them a bit of joy.
When people are happy and you care about them, that should make you happy. I think true success in life can be measured by the smiles on the faces of those you care about. To see someone smile, notes that their life, or at least a portion of, is full of joy. That is a beautiful thing.
In your own life how successful are you? Lookaround at the smiles on the faces of those who mean the most to you. The bigger they are, the more successful you are!
Recently I had the honor of speaking at an event for the West Allis Masterminds. In this video I will explain how I got started in the self-improvement industry and where I would like to go from here.
Check out the video on my YouTube channel at the link below. While you are there, feel free to subscribe so you will be the first to be notified when I post a new video. Special thanks to my lovely Margie who filmed the talk.
There have been many versions of this quote throughout history. I’m using this one because I am both a fan of Inky Johnson, and I like the way this is worded. “Commitment is doing what you said you would do long after the mood you said it in hasleft. “
How many of us have made a commitment and then lost the spirit to maintain it. Say around January 1st? It is easy to say you will go to the gym after a good night’s sleep and everything is going well in life. What happens if we only work out when we feel like it? Not much, if anything at all, would be the answer.
This holds true in every area of our lives. It is easy to be a caring and romantic partner when everything is going great in life and the relationship, but what about when you have challenges in life or the two of you are not getting along. Can you still be committed then? That is the ultimate test.
The week is starting to wind down and we might be already looking forward to the weekend. There is one thing we can do to finish the week off right and start the weekend in a positive note. What is that one thing? Following the recommendationof the loveable bear above, we should love ourselves first.
When we develop a positive self-image, not only are we able to conduct our lives better, but we can help others do the same. Loving ourselves first can be one of the healthiest actions we take. I’m asking you, the reader, what ways do you loveyourself first?Let us share with each other and develop a healthy action plan.
It is hump day. The middle of the week and our energy might be starting to fade. One of my life quests is to find healthy sources of energy. In the life of a blog writer/author/DJ who also happens to work 50+ hours a week at his day job, sleep is rarely in smoke supply.
Imagine my excitement when I came across this list earlier this week. It was not only a great reminder of the many different healthy sources of energy, but the fact that energy depletion can be far more than physical. You can be depleted in one area and it can manifest itself as a physical lack of energy.
Take the example of studying for an exam. Nothing really physically taxing about that. Pushing a key on a keyboard, or turning the page of a book. You won’t strain a hamstring doing that. It will leave you mentally drained and you may very well need a nap after. Here’s what I find draining – political ads.Regardless of party, they are always like the chicken little “the sky is falling” theme. Sucks the life out of your soul after a while.
Next time you’re tired, before you grab a coffee or energy drink, make sure you try one of the items above. The source of your exhaustion could be mental, emotional, physical or even spiritual. Make sure to hydrate, grab a power nap, but maybe focus on gratitude and love as well.
Which one of the items on the list energizesyou the most?
How many of us spend way too much time on things we cannot control? Lol at everything outside the circle in the photo above. Are there any that you spend too much time worried about? It does us little if any good. They are by definition, things beyond our control.
How about the things inside the circle? The things within our control. Far too many of us focus on these slightly, if at all. How about you? Are there any of the things in the circle you could spend more time focusing on?
Here is the crazy thing. If we spend a concerted effort improving the things within the circle, or more to the point within our control, the things on the outside of the circle will improve as well.
Monday is tough for many of us. I usually average about 2.5 hours of sleep before a 9 hour work day. I would not recommend this. My point is, I understand the Monday blues. If you do start your week filled with dread and foreboding it will not set you up for victory.
We need to take a fresh look at Monday and what it provides. Would we rather stay at home in bed than go to work? Sure but instead of focusing on this, why not think of what our job does give us. Monday is the start of earning our rent or mortgage. Monday is the start of earning our ability to keep the lights on. There are so many things we earn. Don’t forget to include saving for vacationand gifts for those we love. How about a delicious meal out? Take a fresh look at Monday and all it gives us.
