30 DAYS OF GRATITUDE DAY 12 – TEXTURE!

This is one of the things in this challenge I must confess to not having thought about before reading it. Considering that both my lovely lady and I are big texture people, you would think that I would. I have thought about what textures I like and do not, but have you ever stopped and thought about being grateful for a texture? It would be my guess most of us would have to answer that last question in the negative. Let us take a look at some of the textures I am grateful for and you can share yours with me.

Knowing where my priorities are, you can guess my first answer. I love the feel of wrapping my arms around my beautiful lady when we give each other a hug. I love the feeling of her hand in mine and her lips on mine. I also love the feeling of a nice soft blanket when you lay in bed. The texture of those boba balls that you can put on top of your frozen yogurt or drink in tea are fun when they explode as you eat them. A nice creamy ice cream cone is good too! The texture of the earth when you walk without shoes feels good. The feeling of sand between your toes when you are on vacation. Between other areas…not so much.

As you can see, there are so many textures to be grateful for. In and out of the culinary world. If everything felt the same, what a boring world we would live in. What are some of your favorite textures? Which ones could you be grateful for? It is an interesting question to ponder.

30 DAYS OF GRATITUDE (DAY # 12)

Welcome back to our celebration of 30 days of gratitude. Each day we will focus on one area of our life to be grateful for. If this is your first day doing this I invite you to go back and do the days before this. You can do them in your head, write them down and home, but it is my hope you decide to share what you are grateful for with our community here on Secret2anamazinglife.com. There are no rules. Do one day or do all 30. Let us now look at today’s area of gratitude.

Texture is something that doesn’t leap to mind when you are thinking of things to be grateful for, but it really should. Imagine if everything felt the same. What a crazy and mixed up world this would be! It would also be a lot more difficult. Imagine sleeping with a blanket that felt like sandpaper. How about sanding with something that had the texture of a soft blanket? Texture plays a very important part in our lives. There are different road grades of road that alert us from when we stray to far out of our lane (I mean I heard there are) and some that tell us we need to slow down. All very important for safety.

Then there are the more pleasurable textures. The feel of your favorite stuffed animal when you were young…or maybe not so young. No judgment here. How about the texture of your pet’s fur when you pet them? How about the texture of your soft skin when you apply lotion to it? The texture of sand between your toes on a tropical beach on vacation? My favorite texture is that of my lady’s soft skin under my fingertips. When I hug her, touch her neck or even just hold her beautiful face in my hands. It is a feeling that is so hard to describe, but feels so amazing.

As you can see, texture is a very important aspect of our lives that can go unappreciated and even unnoticed by many. Just another aspect of our lives that we can be grateful for that we did not think about. See how amazing life is! I would love to hear your favorite textures.
